License server connection indication
One of the main problems with corporate licenses up to now has been the lack of indication. That is, the user did not understand whether he got a workplace (license) until he launched some paid plugin. We have long thought - how to implement the indication so that it was always visible and did not interfere with the work? And today we are pleased to present our solution, which we will tell you about.
Indication in AutoCAD
In AutoCAD, the indication is located in the Status Bar. If the license is received, the icon has a green dot and the corresponding tooltip is displayed when the cursor is hovered over it:
Correspondingly, if you have not received a license, the icon has a red dot and another hint:
At the same time, the indication icon is clickable - if you click on it with the left mouse button, a settings window will open on the "License server" tab.
If none of the license servers is used (disabled in the settings), the indication is not displayed at all.
Indication in Revit
In Revit, we had to come up with a tricky solution because the API doesn't allow to add any buttons or icons to the UI. However, we were able to add an icon to the Title Bar. If the license is received, the icon has a green dot:
Correspondingly, if the license has not been received, the icon has a red dot:
Unfortunately, this icon is not clickable and has no tooltip. That is why we made our own tooltip which appears when the status changes from "license not received" to "license received" and is displayed for 5 seconds.
If none of the license servers is used (disabled in the settings), the indication is not displayed at all.
Indication in Renga
Unfortunately, we could not come up with a similar solution for Renga. Although, it's not relevant at the moment
