This year, Renga has a public API that allows you to write plug-ins using the .Net framework. Who follows the news in our group in the VK, he remembers that a relatively recent poll was conducted on the theme "Is it necessary?". But, regardless of the results of that poll, it was found out that ModPlus can not connect to Renga, which was reported in support of Renga. And recently, namely on August 18, 2013, the update of Renga products came out, in which my remarks were taken into account. So a week ago I started to implement Renga support in ModPlus. By the way, one of the reasons for my quick desire to switch to this task was the fatigue of writing a large and complex function for Revit, which was also reported in the VK.
As expected, the first function for a new product is quite simple and, of course, free. This function - Filter - is the analog of the filter in Revit. Therefore, to paint the principle of work especially there is no sense.
Unlike AutoCAD and Revit, working with Renga has its differences:
- No adaptation menu.
- There are no versions of Renga products. All products have direct update. Those. there was a new version - you need to put. In this regard, the paid functions for Renga, will cost more, relative to the functions for AutoCAD and Revit.
- To connect ModPlus to Renga, you must have administrator rights (hello to Renga developers).
- Functions can be either for any version of Renga, or only for a specific one - Architecture, Structure, MEP.
To the question of what functions to wait - so far I can not say anything optimistic. At the moment, Renga API allows you only to read information, process selection of objects, create empty projects, export to some formats, etc. Those. create yet-that nothing can. So the emergence of new features will depend entirely on the developers of Renga.
