Revit. Filter elements by belonging to a group. New built-in commands: select rebars, select host

Published: 16 January 2024

We are glad to present you an update of working libraries for Revit with small but important changes.

In the elements filter by parameters you can now specify special parameters - ID, TypeID, Group, Assembly. Specifying ID and TypeID will take the instance ID or type ID from the element. Group and Assembly allow you to check whether elements belong to groups or assemblies. In this case, you can both check elements by the names of their parent groups or assemblies, and simply belonging of elements to groups or assemblies:

We have also redesigned the mechanism of built-in commands - now they are added not to the standard panels, but to a separate panel called ModPlus:

And we have added two new built-in commands:

Select rebars - enables you to select the Rebars included in the selected Structural Area Reinforcement or Structural Path Reinforcement.

Select Host - enables you to select an elements that is the Host for the selected elements.

Revit. Built-in commands: select elements in the beam system, select nested families, set the working plane by family

Published: 17 December 2023

Not so long ago we presented built-in commands - small commands that are embedded into standard editing panels. And today we are glad to present you new built-in commands, made by requests from our users:

builtincommands2 en

  • Select elements - enables you to select the elements included in the selected Beam Systems.
  • Select components - enables you to select the components included in the selected Families.
  • Set to view - enables you to set the Work Plane of the current element as the Work Plane of the current 3D View. Currently only works for families.

We have also improved the algorithm of selecting elements in groups and now it works recursively - i.e. if a group contains nested groups, the elements of the nested groups will be selected as well.

Revit. Structure to parameter: Reverse result and volume of layers to parameter

Published: 04 December 2023

Introducing version 2.0 of the Structure to Parameter plugin, which contains two important enhancements:

Reverse result

Following a request from our users, we have added the ability to write a reversible result - i.e. in reverse order - to a specified multiline parameter. To do this, you just need to specify an optional target parameter:

If the parameter is specified and exists at the type, it will be filled in.
