Revit. Apartment Typology 4.0. Areas by levels in multi-level apartments, room number format and other new features

We present the new version of the Apartment Typology plugin 4.0!

This version includes new features developed based on requests from our users, which we will describe below:

Functional purpose by matrix

The plugin processes rooms with the required value in the "Functional purpose" parameter, groups them into apartments, and calculates areas taking into account the "Room matrix". We never thought about automating the filling of the "Functional purpose" parameter, although the task was literally obvious. And when we received such a request, we came up with what we consider the most logical and elegant solution – filling the functional purpose based on the room matrix. The corresponding function has been added to the "Room matrix" tab:

1

Room numbering settings

We added room numbering settings that allow you to:

  • add a number prefix (as text or from a parameter),
  • set the number format (three formats to choose from),
  • add a number suffix (as text or from a parameter),
  • use non-continuous numbering in multi-level apartments.

2

Summation of areas by levels in multi-level apartments

From users whose projects include multi-level apartments, we received the request: "It is necessary to calculate areas for each level separately". At first, we considered adding new additional parameters to the plugin, but quickly abandoned this idea, since there would be too many parameters. Therefore, we came up with another solution:

3

The user adds settings for a level (limited to five levels) and specifies a custom target parameter for the corresponding area parameters. If the settings are defined and the parameter exists, the plugin will calculate the corresponding areas on the level and fill them into the specified parameters.

Miscellaneous

In addition to major new features, the new version also includes a number of minor changes:

  • it is now possible not to apply apartment typology when calculating apartments,
  • in the room matrix, you can select a room from the list of rooms in the project,
  • the ability to duplicate records in tables has been added to all sources and classification conditions,
  • in apartment numbering, it is now possible to specify an initial value with leading zeros,
  • other fixes, which can be found in the change history.

We hope that with the new version of the plugin, performing apartment typology will become even more convenient and efficient! And do not forget to send us your suggestions!

Enjoy you work with ModPlus!
